Rogen Project[edit | edit source]
Here is a list of all Rogen Project characters, categorised by their first episode or publication appearance.
General Information[edit | edit source]
With its focus on characters, the Rogen series possesses a large cast compared to other episodes and their genders are 90% female and 10% male. Most Rogen characters reside in a fictional region called Himawashi, where humans and youkai live, similar to Gensokyo . The youkai often prey on the humans while the humans try to eliminate them. A character's most common role in a Rogen Project episode is being a boss, and they have titles and a theme song associated with them. Midbosses, however, tend to not have a theme. Many characters also have unique abilities, and almost all the characters have at least one or more abilities by showing their strength and power with various capabilities.
Though each episode features a collection of different characters, the main character of the episodes is always Delianna, joined by Islabelle. In some episodes, an new or existing character will join the protagonists in only a related event.

Names[edit | edit source]
Generally, almost all names for each character are written in the Japanese script, either in hiragana, katakana or kanji. Names generally start with the surname followed by the first name, but when they are written in katakana to show a western name, they'll be in western naming order, where they'll have a middle dot (・) to show where the surname begins. The names may not truly be actual names in real life, as they may contain kanji to represent the character overall.
Sophietta has provided romaji and kana versions for most of the characters; the latter only included if the name's in kanji. On some rare occurrences, she'd include official English translations of the name. Some characters only have one name, such as Miyumi and Anlyn. On most occurrences, she would mashup the Japanese names in order to give them a fitting theme.
For western languages, such as English or French, names are obviously written in the Latin script, called romanization/romanisation. Also, the naming order from Japanese is switched to fit suitably with Westerners, for example "Yanagi Midori" (柳 緑) becomes "Midori Yanagi".
Designs[edit | edit source]
Despite there being various species of youkai, almost all the characters take a humanoid form, and are taken in many genders (mainly females). Their designs are sometimes colourful and are based around their characteristics, culture and appearance in an episode. It's also confirmed that almost all characters have some kind of head wear, such as elaborate hats, ribbons or non-human attributes, and that they tend to wear dresses, cultural fashion and armor. There are characters that have different sorts of designs, such as Liselotte with light blinding appearance and Anabeth Hirochi wearing an other-side outfit respectively.
The designs are based on the species a certain character is, such as Kuramori Mikakejo being a dryad but can blend into trees and have long fingers, and Arukari no Mamushi having a snake tail since she's a snake goddess. Sophietta would often apply different exotic skin colour to each character, like Yasu Miryoku's skin being light blue because of her species being a kirin and Inferna Roakahi having orange-red skin to fit her appearance for being a fire spirit.
A few characters however can make cameo appearance in some of the episodes, such as Erin Murley appearing despite being the protagonist in the prequel and Raphael with Uriel, who both appears in the sequel, making an appearance separately in two episodes as one of the boss' supporters (in an appearance of spiritual winged orbs).
- Genders
Most of the characters in the Rogen episodes are females, but there are some rare occurrence that male characters appear as bosses, such as Tobi Takashi, Susako, Otto Koeteshi, etc.
- Drawings
Sophietta takes on most of the drawings for the characters that appear in the Rogen episodes. Her distinctive ways of drawing is different compared to other artists.
